A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an extensive, 1-to-2-day evaluation of the client's current functional status. It focuses on the assessment of major physical tolerances and functional abilities related to musculoskeletal strength, endurance, speed and flexibility.
| This evaluation gathers data that can be used to determine employability of the individual. |
A unique feature of Classic's FCE is its versatility and customization to the individual's needs.
Each assessment is planned and designed according to:
- The client's occupation.
- The job demands and other physical needs.
- The referral sources' questions.
A Home Assessment, if necessary, complements the clinic based evaluation. This gives the therapist an opportunity to assess the clients in their own surroundings
Utilization of FCEs:
- Essential part of the initial stage of the rehabilitation process in order to establish baselines.
- To monitor the client's progress within a treatment program.
- Used as a discharge criteria and as a basis for recommendations for return to work.
